Eldersburg, MD February 22, 2021 – Waveband Communications Inc., a manufacture of OEM comparable two-way radio accessories, announced today the release of SGS laboratories certified intrinsically safe two-way radio batteries for Motorola APX and XPR radios. Having batteries tested by SGS laboratories ensures batteries are proven safe to use in hazardous locations and comply with global standards to sell batteries in other countries. 

Waveband Communications currently has over 20 Intrinsically Safe (IS) certified batteries and are compatible with Kenwood, Motorola, BK Technologies, and Harris. This release adds two new intrinsically safe batteries to its collection for the APX 6000 and the XPR 6000 series radios. 

SGS Laboratories have extensive background experience in battery testing providing technical verifications, safety settings, and factory auditing services. SGS will test according to standards in safety, performance, and telecommunications. Certification by SGS laboratories tests batteries for abuse, durability, electrical, environmental, life cycle analysis, performance, and safety standards.
